We have replaced the way you sign in to this site. In short:
Every existing account now signs in with its e-mail address and a one-time code that we send to that address. This includes accounts that were issued a password earlier - that password no longer works.
Your account and your licences are otherwise unchanged. Nothing needs doing on your part except signing in the new way.
HOW TO SIGN IN
- Type the e-mail address your account is registered under into the sign-in box at the top of any forum page, and click Sign in.
- On the next page, click "E-mail me a sign-in code". The page also asks who is signing in - Developer, Renewal or Account holder. Unless you have given us separate addresses for these, they all go to the same mailbox, and the default is fine.
- Leave the password field on that page empty. A password you were issued earlier will be refused.
- We e-mail you a six-digit code. Click "Enter the code" and type it in. Use the same browser you started in - the code only works there, so if the mail arrives on your phone, type the code on the computer that asked for it. A code can be used once and is valid for ten minutes.
- No mail after a few minutes? Check your spam folder before asking for another code.
If you have not signed in for a long time, the e-mail will not contain a code. It asks you to write to us from your registered address instead, and we reactivate the account by hand. That is deliberate: an address that has been silent for years may no longer belong to the person it was registered for, and a code sent to it would give your account to whoever reads that mailbox now.
